Going Green - Is this your new year resolution?

I'm not a fan of New Year's Resolutions. Mostly because I always give up. I set myself massive goals that are usually unattainable.
Going Green - Is this your new year resolution?
This year I decided instead of focusing on myself, I'm going to focus on small goals to help the planet by Going Green. I've been described as a bit of a womble. I'm obsessed with recycling. Here are the resolutions I'm going to be focusing on this year.

1) Saving water

Saving water is crucial, we cannot continue to mindlessly waste it. Simple acts like reducing shower time by only 2 minutes will save big time. The average showers can use a whopping 8 litres of water per minute.

Turning the tap off while brushing our teeth is also a no brainer when in comes to conserving water.

Stopping buying bottled water.

2) Stop buying clothes

Even sustainable clothes use resources for production and transport to your home, creating some environmental impact. You also pay more for sustainable clothing than in a fast fashion shop.  We now know what lies behind those very low prices.

I buy so many clothes. I think that buying new clothes will make me happy. I recent discovered Vinted. Amazing for buying and selling clothes. (baby steps, i'm really trying)

3) Cutting down single plastic use

Swapping to a plastic free shampoo bar. Try Davines Momo shampoo bar. Instead of a rinse out conditioner i am using Davines Oi Milk, saves on rinsing time!

4) Buy washing powder rather than pods. (I'm saving a fortune)

5) Take a packed lunch to work.

6) Shopping at B Corps

Certified B Corporations, (B Corps), are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

In other words they are companies that put the planet before profit.

This is why i always use Davines hair products.

7) Buy Cruelty free

My go to skincare is Dermalogica

Dermalogica is certified cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan. They are free of artificial colours and fragrances, mineral oil, lanolin, S.D. alcohol, parabens and microplastics. All paper and cartons used are FSC certified to be sustainable for forests.

Hopefully, I will be able to stick to these. Wish me luck Going Green xxx
